Turkish Airlines Lounge JFK

A shockingly bad lounge experience from an airline renowned for its service. I've had the pleasure of flying Turkish biz class and relxing in their IST lounge in the past. What a wonderful experience!! I really would have expected their branded lounge at JFK, of all places, to mirror SOME of the service at their hub. This place was wildly disappointing. Comfortable enough I suppose, but just not to the standard reflected in my previous experience with this airline. No alcohol was the real let-down!! Even a cash bar would have been *something.* I bailed and went over to the Air France lounge instead. You should, too.

The buffet ran out of the two hot entrées for awhile. The open table we found had not been cleaned, after we sat down we noticed coffee rings, but there weren't any better options avaliable. An attended had to 'fix' the coffee machine, which still didn't work. The food was pretty good when it was avaliable. Overpriced at free (company purchased ticket), I regret not buying something to eat, and coffee, outside in the terminal. No working lounge WiFi. Oh very nice view of the airport, certainly a plus!

After comparing the lounges of Air France, Lufthansa, Korean Air, and Turkish Airlines in Terminal 1, I’d rank the Turkish Airlines lounge fourth. The bathroom is untidy, the food selection is limited, and there are no alcoholic beverages. However, on the plus side, the lounge is usually not crowded.
