Pittsburgh’s first Uzbek halal restaurant, Kavsar is family-owned in Mt. Washington and has served Pittsburgh for over a decade. We offer refined halal dining in a warm, elegant setting, with handcrafted, made-to-order dishes inspired by Central Asian, Eastern European, and select international flavors. Our kitchen prepares handmade dumplings, signature soups, slow-cooked meats, traditional entrées, and house specialties with quality ingredients, careful preparation, and attentive hospitality.

Bek was the man. We just moved in up the street and stopped in. He treated us like family and recommended 2 phenomenal dishes. This will be a weekly staple.

I've been wanting to try a Georgian khachapuri and decided to Google it while in Pittsburgh for work. It steered me to Kavsar saying they serve something similar. So I had the cheese and egg boat which was very tasty, although I'd guess that it isn't made with the Georgian cheeses used in a khachapuri. The tea was nice, made with loose leaf in a classy teapot. I saved room for dessert and the mango mousse cake was delicious. The young man who waited on me was very pleasant and friendly. If I was in town longer, I'd go back to try one of the Uzbek dishes they serve.

Loved this place. Food was amazing and flavorful, everything tasted homemade. We tried a bunch of stuff - stuffed tomatoes, homemade bread, meat and veggie samsas, manti dumplings, lagman noodles with beef, and vegetarian plov. I Loved that they had clear vegetarian options, my girlfriend is vegetarian and was glad. Everything was on point. Service was good, and interior decor was nice. I would come back here. They do Uzbek food so well. I eat at a bunch of Uzbek places in the NYC metropolitan area, and Kavsar matched or even surpassed them in flavor !

I was really impressed with how flavorful all their food was. I had the Uzbek Plov and am excited to go back to try other menu items.
